Five ISTU master degree programs were awarded with EUR-ACE certificates of Association for Engineering Education of Russia (AEER). The programs furthermore received certificates of All-European System for Accreditation of Engineering Education (ENAEE) about awarding the lebel EUR-ACE® Master. The respective decision was approved by the AEER Board of Directors.
According to the Head of ISTU Department for International Cooperation Evgeniia ARBATSKAIA the following programs have received accreditation for five years: “Optimization of Developing Power-Supply Systems”, “Energy Efficiency, Audit and Department Management”, “Environmental Safety”, “Waste Management”, “Logistical Management and Road Safety”.
“These certificates confirm that our University is a HEI with high scientific potential and modern productive base and that mentioned programs promote academic mobility of students as well as successful integration of ISTU to international scientific and educational space.” – E. ARBATSKAIA emphasized.
The auditing was carried out step-by-step. The self-study of the programs was done in the first half of 2014. Then the examination team of AEER accreditation center carried out their auditing. By the results of all assessments positive conclusion was delivered.
Accreditation of educational programs proves that a HEI takes care of the quality of education and specialists’ training. Competitiveness of graduates is increased on regional, Russian and international labor-markets.
The accredited ISTU programs are listed in AEER and ENAEE registers. Previously and namely in 2004 – 2005 only two ISTU educational programs were in the AEER register: “Aircraft and Helicopter Construction” and “Chemical Technology of Natural Energy Resources and Carbon-Base Materials”.
Graduates of the accredited programs have an opportunity to undergo certification of engineering qualifications and apply for listing in registers of professional engineers on both national and international level. Such certification enables the award of the title EUR ING (“European engineer”).
REFERENCE: Association for Engineering Education of Russia exists since 1992. AEER is a voluntary public organization, which includes scientists, teachers, engineers, specialists of engineering HEIs, research institutes, scientific production enterprises, technoparks and other organizations, interested in improving engineering education and speeding up scientific and technological progress.
AEER is one of ENAEE founders along with leading European engineering organizations such as accreditation agencies of Great Britain, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Portugal, France etc. ENAEE members recognize equivalence of programs marked with EUR-ACE Label and their compliance with international standards.
