This year it is the first time when a representative of Indonesia takes part in the workshop. Dissa Pidanti RAPAS is sure, that consolidation of world experience can help to get good results: “The unique atmosphere of the Baikal Winter University has amazed me. It is so interesting when different people of different countries work together on the common project. Such problems as improving of existing transport conditions, development of the transport network and unloading city roads exist in all cities of the world. Our task is to examine problems from different points of view.”
Each international team includes an ISTU student as well. According to ISTU student Nelly SKOMOROVSKAYA the topic of the 16th session is very urgent for such a city as Irkutsk: “Traffic jams and narrowness of roads are main problems of the transport infrastructure of Irkutsk. Especially one can see them in the downtown, airport and Irkutsk-II districts. Young architects and designers from different countries can suggest many alternative solutions of these problems.”
