Subdepartment of Mine survey and Geodesy at ISTU - participant of the international conference in the USA

Head of the subdepartment of Mine survey and Geodesy at NI ISTU, Professor Anatoliy Okhotin, takes part in the International Conference HxGN LIVE 2013 (Hexagon Conference). Scientific Forum is held on June 3 - 6 in Las Vegas (Nevada). The users of Geospatial Technology Leica Geosystems, Intergraph, ERDAS, and Hexagon Metrology and experts forum from around the world will come to participate in a scientific. Organizers expect up to 3 million visitors.

According to A. Okhotin, Russian professionals in the field of geodesy, cartography, acquisition and processing of geospatial data are invited to the conference by the company Leica Geosystems (Switzerland). This company is a world leader in technology development and manufacture of surveying instruments to carry out topographical surveys, mapping, satellite navigation and others. The laboratory of Mine survey at ISTU is equipped with a robotic total station Leica Geosystems.

"The Russian delegation includes the staff of the Moscow Institute of Geodesy and Cartography, Siberian Academy of Geodesy, Siberian Federal University, Yakutsk State University, Perm State Technical University and other universities. We are interested in the latest developments in the field of remote sensing of the Earth. Participation in the international conference will encourage the development of new technologies and equipment in the field of mine surveying and geodesy, their introduction into the learning process ", said A. Okhotin.

Block of the company Leica Geosystems at the conference will consist of three sections: "Geodesy, engineering survey and infrastructure (including sections of GIS, construction, and mining)," "Terrestrial laser scanning", "Geospatial solutions (air scanning, technology for processing digital image and 3D visualization of data from Leica Geosystems and Z / I Imaging). Participants will present more than 100 reports; among them are the stories of people from different countries about the experience of the application of these technologies, specialists’ reports on industry trends, announcements of new technological solutions, interactive demonstrations and master classes.

According to the Head of the subdepartment, the basic geodetic works have already been completed in the United States, as well as in Europe, in contrast to Russia. "Application of technology and devices from companies such as Leica Geosystems, is very promising in our region, where the economy is booming, implementing large-scaled infrastructure projects. "

"In addition, we will visit several universities specializing in geodesy in different states. The trip is well planned, promises a lot of business contacts. We will make presentations of our universities at the round table, and will tell about the achievements in the field of geodesy. I hope to establish links with the scientific journals that are indexed in the databases of Web-of-Science and Scopus. Thus, we extend the professional social circle and get new knowledge, we will find common ground in research with American universities ", A. Okhotin.
