Krasnoyarsk city administration chose the chief architect of the city by the means of an open competition for the first time, the winner is a ISTU graduate, Andrey Makarov.
"The person, who fits to the current stage of the urban development of Krasnoyarsk, was sel ected out of seven candidates of the contest. The city is on the verge of developing a new master plan for the city. It is necessary to streamline the process of development, we need a new perspective on the development of new projects for areas planning ", said the Mayor of Krasnoyarsk.
A. Makarov (born in 1956) graduated fr om Irkutsk Polytechnic Institute, the specialty "Architecture". Until 1999 he worked as a chief architect of the project at Ltd. "Irkutskgrazhdanproekt." A large number of projects of Irkutsk homes, public buildings and sports facilities are accomplished under his supervision. In particular A. Makarov designed the dormitory of the circus’s artists, orphanages and orphanage for small babies in the district Yubileiniy. He reconstructed the sports complex "Dynamo" and made the project of the district Lisiha in Irkutsk. He implemented the project of regeneration of historic buildings in the district № 130 in Irkutsk, participated in the development of general plans of Irkutsk and Chita. He worked as an architect in the creative teams that perform the federal projects such as the restoration of the city of Grozny in Chechen Republic, town planning verification of the airport "Irkutsk-New", the draft plan of the special economic zone in the lake Baikal, planning documentation in regions of Siberia and the Caucasus.
Many projects of A. Makarov received awards and prizes at international and national competitions. The highest is a professional award in the field of architecture "Crystal Daedalus" (Moscow, 2010).
Since 2010, A. Makarov has been working as General Director of "Trans-Baikal Institute of Regional Planning," as a board president of SRO NP "Baikal society of architects and engineers."
