Preparatory department of Irkutsk Technical University conducts intensive training for students of 9, 10 and 11 forms for exams: State final attestation (GIA) and Unified State Examination (USE), as well as additional courses in drawing and composition for those who are entering the specialty "Architecture", "Design", "Design of Architectural Environment" and "Design of buildings".
Today, classes are held in 12 groups for 11th form students, three groups for 9th form and three groups for 10th form students; 15 people on average in the group. To remind last year about a thousand young people have passed preparatory courses in mathematics, physics, Russian language, computer science, chemistry, social science and other sciences at ISTU.
Preparatory courses combine students from different schools and cities in the region. 11th form pupils Polina Bykova and Marina Pulyaevskaya (gymnasium № 1, Angarsk), Elena Boricheva (school № 2 Shelekhov) and Elizaveta Krivonogova (school № 34, Irkutsk) enthusiastically attend classes in drawing. "We are very pleased that have enrolled in these courses. Teachers help us being prepared for the creative examination for admission to ISTU. We have already started settling in the university. Many of us have deliberately chosen architectural profession. All course participants studied at art school, all guys consider themselves talented and creative people. Profession of architect has become prestigious, well paid and is in demand. For many university entrants, it is important that they can get a quality architectural education close to home in their region, enrolling in ISTU," says the schoolgirl.
According to an employee of the preparatory department Irina Shakhray, set in the group will be completed in March. "Most of the students come to us in September, but it is important to understand that it is possible to prepare for the exam for a short time,” said I. Shakhray. “So do not think that student who come to us in February or March, do not receive sufficient knowledge. Our teachers conduct intensive training courses, based on the fulfillment of a large number of tasks USE (GIA). In order to not overload the alumni, classes are held once a week in each subject. You can choose a two-hour or four-hour classes, depending on the depth of training required."
During the learning process, students of preparatory course use special literature: manuals, problem books, workbooks. Course participants work with the real tests of the Unified State Exam, including variants adopted for 2014, proposed by FIPI (Federal Institute for educational measurement). Training is strictly carried out according to the curriculum, constantly assesses knowledge of guys. Performance is recorded in educational journals. At the end of training final control work is taken in the format of the exam (GIA) and detailed analysis of errors. Teachers hold additional consultations at the end of courses.
