It is already the third year when ISTU International Office together with the International (Preparatory) Faculty organizes International Summer School “Exploring Siberia”. From July 26 till August 08, 2009 ISTU welcomed 30 foreign citizens from 10 countries, and namely Austria, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Germany, Sweden, Finland, Holland, Spain, Slovenia and even Brazil. Among the participants there were not only students, but also foreign specialists employed at banks, hospitals, schools, universities etc. During two weeks the school participants surveyed Irkutsk, its surrounding and Lake Baikal; improved their Russian language skills and got acquainted with social, political and economic life of our region.
